A sustainable and efficient health campus: Hanover Medical School

Together with C.F. Møller Architects, we won the competition for the Hanover Medical School Hospital.
Hanover Medical School (MHH) ranks among the top German medical universities in terms of its research profile. At the same time, it provides comprehensive healthcare services to the people of Hanover and beyond. Our design, which extends the university's existing site, establishes a highly efficient and sustainable healthcare campus with a pleasant atmosphere. A new urban building block for the benefit of all, including patients, staff, and neighbors.
Marcus Fißan, Managing Director for Science and Healthcare at HENN, says:
“Together with our ARGE partner C.F. Møller Architects, we are creating an environment that puts people first – whether they are patients, medical staff, or visiting loved ones. But our vision goes beyond healthcare itself: we are designing a sustainable campus that meets the highest functional and aesthetic standards – shaping the university hospital of the future.”
Maibritt Dammann, associate partner and head of healthcare at C.F. Møller Architects, adds:
“The Hanover Medical School is a milestone in modern healthcare design. By focusing on adaptability, sustainability, and dignified spaces shaped by the principles of healing architecture, we’re setting new benchmarks for how hospitals serve both people and the planet.“
