Real Time Data Visualisation

In addition to the programming method, HENN implemented a set of methods that in order to analyze resources and demands in knowledge-driven businesses and enterprises. These are subject to ongoing, further development through a collaboration with  the "Centre for Knowledge Architecture" at the TU Dresden as well as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

The diagram as an abstract model for communication has had a great impact on architectural design methodology. We aim to extend the diagrammatic design approach by using the diagram as a dynamic visualization tool. This tool will be linked directly to source data, eliminating the need to draw each instance manually. The dynamic visualization of data is not a new topic in science and arts, but has gained great momentum in recent years. Companies, analysts as well as Artists and Publishers are constantly developing new ways to work with "big data". We aim to channel the potential of computer-based design tools by combining and embedding them in successfully proven design methodologies such as programming. Through the shift from static, representational diagrams towards dynamic informative communication tools, we aim to move from the analytical phase of diagramming to a more flexible, generative design approach, based on empirical data.

This method is applied throughout all phases of architectural projects, from early client meetings to the final presentations. Our aim is to gain knowledge by implementing these tools as an integrated part of our design workflow and by utilizing them across departments.
