Corporate Architecture.

Apple investiert sogar Milliarden in seinen Campus. Das so genannte Spaceship wurde von Lord Foster entworfen. Doch wie sieht es in Deutschland aus? Wie präsentieren sich hier Arbeitgeber? Und können Start-Ups auf das eigene Bürohaus womöglich verzichten? (Quelle: Website KAP FORUM)

Ground-Breaking Ceremony for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Technical University of Munich

20.04.2018 –

Two days ago the ground was ceremonially broken for the largest building programme in the history of the Technical University of Munich (TUM). The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is a new complex at the Garching Research Campus, replacing the department's old facilities in the centre of Munich. The focal point of the new development is a central public forum, around which the four faculty buildings are grouped. The forum consists of a glazed hall that joins all of the individual buildings with each other. In late 2019 / early 2020, an initial ten of the current 45 professorial chairs are planned to move into the new complex. Overall department operations are to be relocated to the Garching site after the completion of the auditorium complex in the second construction stage (estimated to be in 2025).

HENN and C.F. Møller Architects win hospital project in Braunschweig, DE

13.04.2018 –

C.F. Møller Architects and HENN have been awarded the contract for the general planning services for the building projects of the Städtisches Klinikum Braunschweig (Braunschweig Municipal Hospital) in the course of a negotiation procedure.

The architectural programme includes a new building and further building work on an existing shell construction. In addition, the various different buildings on the site are to be amalgamated to form a cluster. In order to achieve this, an open and connecting “Magistrale” (main thoroughfare) is to be created. This is designed to act as the main artery of the building complex, interlinking all the relevant sectors with each other; bundling the movement flows of visitors, patients and staff; and creating visual interactions between the architectural parts via adjoining atriums. The total volume includes 12.730 m² of new-built, 35.500 m² of addition and 28.330 m² to rebuild.

Second joint win in Germany
The project is the team’s second large hospital assignment on the German market: In 2017, C.F. Møller Architects and HENN jointly won an international competition to extend Germany’s most iconic hospital complex, the listed 1970’s high-tech University Hospital RWTH Aachen. The existing building will be expanded with a new, partly subsurface, volume, containing a central surgery area, including intensive care units and a new public entrance hall. State-of-the-art surgeries and ICUs make it the most important component of Aachen‘s healthcare provision.

Richtfest Zalando Headquarter in Berlin, DE

19.01.2018 –

Completion of the Protein Centre in Halle, Germany

10.01.2018 –

The new Protein Centre Halle has been completed according to the design by HENN. In autumn 2017, the federal government and the state of Saxony-Anhalt handed over the research building to the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg. In the new building 255 biologists, chemists and physicians will be researching in more than 5,000 square meters of office and laboratory space.
The Protein Centre Halle unites 13 research groups in the fields of biology, biochemistry, pharmacy and medicine under one roof and thus represents a significant research center for protein biochemistry at Martin Luther University.

HENN wins the competition for Xi’an Chan-Ba Free Trade Center

02.11.2017 –

HENN wins the competition for an office and shopping complex in Xi’an, a city of four million inhabitants in the heart of China. The design envisages five buildings of differing heights, rotated at an angle of 45 degrees to the north-to-south axis. This reduces the wind loads from the predominantly easterly winds. It additionally enables an optimal exploitation of daylighting on all four sides of the buildings, whereby the staggering of the heights is a further design mechanism that likewise allows sufficient sunlight to enter all the interior parts of the building. At the lower levels the buildings are interconnected by means of open and closed circulation routes, creating a diversity of spatial experiences.

Communication Landscapes - an installation at Seoul Biennale 2017

23.10.2017 - On the occasion of this year’s Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism HENN presents, in partnership with Technische Universität Darmstadt, an interactive installation that explores the idea of Industry 4.0, digital craft and human/machine interfaces.

It presents the positive aspects of the automation of production. New lean and clean production methods enable a departure from the centralized industrial model of the 20th century, creating smaller, decentralized production units that can better match today’s urban and social fabric. This represents, so to say, an analogy to the model of craftsmanship prevalent prior to the Industrial Revolution, whereby in this case production no longer resides with the artisan but with a machine. The premise of the model is that it enables the creativity of individual production to be distributed among the wider population rather than being concentrated in a single person. At the same time, Communication Landscapes visualizes the complex but far-reaching impact of such technologies on the construction industry – with all its economic and ecological consequences. Customized constructional parts lead to an optimized use of material and increase the physical efficiency of a building as a whole. Individual detail solutions manufactured on-site enable an efficient design process and increase precision.

The Seoul Biennale runs until November 1st 2017
